Job Summary
This role involves supporting the teachers in the delivery of safe, effective, tailored and exciting classes for children ages 4 to 18 adhering to material guidelines monitored by the Principal. The Classroom Assistant must be able to follow direction, be confident and have an interest in the theatre arts.
As a classroom assistant and ambassador for Razzamataz Theatre Schools, you must demonstrate a true belief and understanding of the Razzamataz offering and values and promote Razzamataz in the highest standard that has been set.
This person will be imaginative, overflowing with energy and have a natural affinity with children.
Job Requirements
- Support the teacher to provide the safe and effective delivery of classes in dance, singing and drama adhering to material set out by the Principal.
- To adhere to all health and safety guidelines set out by the Principal during classes and at any external events/presentations or performances.
- To ensure the signing in and out of each child by an adult over the age of 18 at every session held
- To adhere to all child protection & safeguarding guidelines set out by the Principal
- To be accountable for the students in each class.
- To work as a team along with the Principal, teachers and assistants.
- To show loyalty to Razzamataz and represent an appropriate Company image at all time
- To attend termly staff meetings and training at the start of the academic year and 1:1 at the end of Term 1 and 3.
- To effectively carry out any further duties the Principal deem suitable within the remit of your role with the company

Teaching Assistant/Cover Teacher
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented practitioner to join our team at Razzamataz Theatre Schools Newcastle!
This role involves assisting the lead teacher in delivering highly engaging, fun, and exciting performing arts lessons to children in our Minis (4-5) and Juniors (6-8) groups. You will work alongside a team of experienced teachers to ensure that every student in the class is enjoying and benefiting from their sessions. This role will also involve occasionally delivering pre-planned lessons to Minis and Juniors classes, so it is crucial that you are comfortable delivering all three disciplines (singing, drama, and dance). Full training and support will be given, as well as ongoing mentoring and CPD. The assistant/cover teacher must be efficient, timely, extremely customer focused, and be a trusted presence for the children and parents/guardians. As an assistant and ambassador for Razzamataz Theatre Schools Newcastle, you must demonstrate a true belief and understanding of the Razzamataz offering and values. You will be imaginative, overflowing with energy, and be able to quickly form trusting relationships with children.
All classes run on Saturdays.
5.5 hours/week with opportunities for more based on progress.

Razzamataz Theatre Schools Rayleigh West has an opening for a professionally trained dancer with performance experience to join its dedicated team of teachers on Saturdays during term time (up to six hours per week). The position will involve sourcing music and lesson planning to deliver classes in various genres to children aged 4 – 17 plus choreographing for annual productions. Additional skills such as singing/acting/music editing would be an advantage although not essential. Applicants should be self motivated and enthusiastic, have a genuine passion for the performing arts with high expectations and a real desire to instil confidence so that students can achieve. Rate of pay will depend on ability and experience.

Due to expanding we are currently seeking strong teachers and teaching assistants of dance, drama and singing to teach / assist our 6-18 year olds. You must be creative, inspirational and able to deliver a varied yet exciting and stretching curriculum across musical theatre and commercial styles. We are looking for professionals who are able to use their knowledge, skills and expertise of the industry to inspire and train our students, building on the technical knowledge they have already achieved.
We are also seeking a dance teacher to teach our Project Intense classes.
Project Intense is designed to be fast paced, in-depth and engaging, pushing our students to the next level, preparing them for professional college. The successful applicant will need to be confident in all styles of dance, from core ballet technique through to technical jazz, commercial, musical theatre, tap, lyrical and street dance. The ability to alter your teaching style to suit all levels of capability – from very beginners to experienced – is essential as well as having the versatility in your teaching to suit various learning methods. Encouragement, understanding, patience and care in your teaching is essential, as well as the creativity to keep young minds engaged.
Our theatre school is based in Maidstone, Kent and our classes run on Saturdays during term time.

Positions start from September, pay ranges between £17 – £25 per hour depending on experience.
