Razzamataz expands with two new schools

As a society we are learning more about the impact of taking care of both our physical and mental health. Parents are looking for activities that can support their children as well as offering lots of fun.

Increased demand
With more than 23 years’ experience in the children’s activity sector, Razzamataz Theatre Schools is passionate about creating safe and happy spaces for young people to thrive. With 60 schools across the UK, teaching more than 10,000 children every week, the demand for the services of Razzamataz continues to grow.

Introducing two new schools

The company is delighted that two new schools will be joining the multi-award-winning network. Razzamataz Lancaster and Razzamataz Coventry will be opening their doors this April, both sharing the Razzamataz mission to build self-belief in students. Through the performing arts classes, the Razzamataz team will inspire the next generation to be better communicators with increased confidence leading to higher academic achievement. Children gain a wealth of attributes by engaging in Razzamataz performing arts lessons including more confidence, collaboration skills, increased empathy and a whole host of additional life skills.

Razzamataz Lancaster

The new franchise partner of Razzamataz Lancaster is Brittany Arthur, who was first welcomed into the Razzamataz community in 2005 at Razzamataz Dumfries as a student when she was just five years old. After leaving Razzamataz, she went to university and has achieved a BA Hons in photography. From there, she became a support worker supporting young people and adults with additional needs. “Working with young people within performing arts is something I have always strived to do to be able to help them develop life skills and become the best that they can be,” says Brittany about her new role as the Principal of Razzamataz Lancaster.

Razzamataz Coventry

Bringing her professional experience as an actor and teacher is Kimisha Lewis, the new franchise partner at Razzamataz Coventry. Kimisha trained at the prestigious Rose Bruford College with a BA(Hons) in Acting and was also a member of the National Youth Theatre. She has since gone on to have an exciting career in London’s West End and international touring as well as TV & voice over professional work. “The Razzamataz Coventry team is built from a wealth of professional training and performance experience, meaning students will be wrapped in passion, surrounded by industry experts and hold the keys to valuable inside industry knowledge,” says Kimisha.

Benefits of being a franchise partner

There are huge benefits of being a Razzamataz franchise partner, not least the opportunity to work flexibly and leave a legacy in your local community. Financially, the tried and tested Razzamataz franchise system has been incredibly successful with franchise partners able to turnover in excess of £300,00 per annum. For the right candidates, there is also an exciting offer of no upfront fee, ensuring that lack of resources don’t get in the way for committed would-be entrepreneurs.

“We are delighted to welcome Kimisha and Brittany and very much look forward to their schools opening in Coventry and Lancaster,” says Denise Hutton-Gosney, Founder and MD of Razzamataz. “Even though they are both new to business, this is not a barrier to being successful because we provide on-going training, support and mentoring ensuring they have all the tools they need to build their theatre school business.”

Work full or part time

Many franchise partners combine running their own theatre school with other part time work, or with family commitments. The model is very flexible and can work for people with different expectations and requirements. Although it is crucial to be passionate about performing arts, no previous experience in the arts is necessary and many franchise partners come from a range of different backgrounds including accountants, teachers and recent graduates.
