Franchise theatre school participates in the world’s biggest dance event

Move It is the world’s biggest dance event, celebrating all forms of dance and the performing arts. Some of the country’s most talented dancers, choreographers and teachers go to  showcase their skills, connecting the community through dance.

Known for bringing together performing arts students, professionals and industry leaders from around the globe, Move It provides a platform for showcasing talent, sharing knowledge and celebrating the art of dance.

This year, Razzamataz Theatre Schools was delighted to be in attendance all weekend as well as being invited by organisers to perform on the showcase theatre stage. Students from Razzamataz Medway delivered two astounding performances, showcasing the excellence achieved through the curriculum, representative of the high standards upheld across the network of 60 schools nationwide.

The talented students worked tirelessly to perfect two amazing pieces and their Principal Emily Nachshon couldn’t be prouder: “Their dedication, passion, and commitment shine through, and witnessing their determination to perform at their best fills me with immense pride. It’s moments like these that truly showcase their growth and resilience as performers and individuals.”

Razzamataz was at Move It to exhibit its unique approach to performing arts education, nurturing talent in dance, drama, and singing while fostering confidence and creativity in students of all ages and abilities. With a network of over 60 schools across the UK, Razzamataz has earned a reputation for producing outstanding performers and professionals in the industry as well as creating exciting careers for entrepreneurs to open their own theatre school.

As Razzamataz approaches its 25th year of business, there are even more opportunities for people to join the growing brand. While at Move It, members of the Head Office team, teachers and franchisees were on hand to speak to people about joining the network.

“It was great to network with many teachers and workshop practitioners who are keen to collaborate and share their expertise,” says Asha, franchisee and member of Head Office. “We also met with many Razzamataz teachers from across the UK and it was a great to have the opportunity to explain more about the different avenues for career growth within Razzamataz.”

Both Asha and her colleague Amber started their own journeys as teachers with Razzamataz. They now run very successful theatre school businesses, enabling them to build a financial stable career around other commitments such as a young family.

The chance to thrive in a career that makes such a huge difference to the lives of young people is ultimately what many are searching for. During Move It, the team were delighted to meet so many former students and learn about their success and what it meant to them to have had Razzamataz as part of their childhood years.

“We met a young lady called Amelia, aged 11,” says Amber. “She first discovered dance at a Razzamataz Session at Eurocamp whilst on holiday. Following this holiday, Amelia started dancing and she was recently named Can You Dance 2024 Dance Star and Dance World Cup Champion 2023. Her mum told us that it all started by attending Razzamataz at three years old, because this is where she first discovered and found her love for dance.”

Razzamataz is truly unique because so many people currently in the network as either teachers, assistants, Principals or admin staff began when they were students themselves. The flexibility and variety that a career with Razzamataz offers enables them to carve out a role that suits their lifestyle.

Razzamataz Theatre Schools offer employment to some circa 600 people either as teachers, assistants, or part of the admin team. There are plenty of opportunities to grow with many people starting out as work experience placements and progressing to assistant Principals or Principal roles.
