Despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, the cost-of-living crisis and continued pressure on household budgets, parents are continuing to recognise the value of investing in their children’s development with schools across the Razzamataz Theatre Schools network seeing the results. Well over 70% of schools have recorded growth over the last 12 months, with some experiencing exceptional increases in student numbers as families continue to prioritise activities that build transferable life skills. Even more exciting, new schools in our network have shown considerable growth since launch at over 80%.
The reasons behind the growth
For Razzamataz, the figures point to a clear shift in what parents value when choosing activities for their children. Even when household budgets are under pressure, families continue to invest in experiences that offer genuine, lasting value. At the heart of Razzamataz is a focus on helping children develop the skills they need both on and off the stage, and parents have seen the positive outcomes themselves. Confidence, communication, creativity, resilience, teamwork and independence are all developed alongside the performing arts, giving children skills that can support them throughout their lives.
A strong sense of community
For many families, Razzamataz provides a place where children can make friends, find their confidence, discover their passions and feel part of something. From overseas trips and exciting performance opportunities to shows that parents, grandparents and wider family can come along and enjoy, Razzamataz creates shared experiences and memories that families can be part of together. Just as importantly, parents know there is a supportive team behind their child. Principals and teachers build strong relationships with families, providing a listening ear when parents have questions or concerns and keeping them regularly updated on their child’s progress, development and experience.
Growth in action
The experiences of individual Razzamataz Principals demonstrate how this wider demand is translating into tangible growth. Across the network, schools are responding to what families want while continuing to evolve their classes, expand their communities and create new opportunities for students. All of this is leading to business growth and the chance for franchisees to build successful, sustainable businesses while making a meaningful difference to the lives of the children and families they serve.

The support behind the growth
At Razzamataz Stockton, Principal Amber has grown student numbers from 267 in June 2025 to 381 in July 2026, an increase of more than 40%. During the past 13 months, the school has introduced Tiny Tots, one-to-one singing lessons and expanded its timetable into Saturday afternoons, while doubling staffing hours through additional classes, promotions and new responsibilities within the team.
Growth has also enabled the school to extend its reach within the local community, with school clubs, HAF clubs and scholarships helping more children access the performing arts. Students have also benefited from major performance experiences, including opportunities at Disney and in the West End.
Amber says: “The wider Razzamataz network has been instrumental in supporting the school’s development, from regular contact with fellow Principals and network training to focused Growth Hubs, which help us set achievable goals and turn small steps into bigger results. The value of opportunities such as students performing at Disney, the West End and the chance for us Principals to learn at the annual conference, gives us all the feeling of being part of something bigger.”
Building a business around family life
Growth is also being achieved alongside family life. At Razzamataz Carlisle and Dumfries, Principal Debbie has increased student numbers by 16%, from 407 to 474, while revenue has grown by 25% between June 2025 and June 2026.
As a mum of young children, Debbie has deliberately built a strong leadership team around her, investing in leadership training and delegating responsibility across the business. This has enabled her to step back from almost all operational tasks and focus on strategic leadership and the areas that drive the business forward.
She says: “I have an amazing team and have invested in leadership training over the past few years. This has allowed me to remove myself (almost) form the operational tasks within the business and focus on strategic leadership. Delegation and passing over full ownership of tasks and projects have been key to allow me to focus on the tasks that drive the business forward, whilst working around being a mum and taking time for myself.”
