Major Brand Collaboration Sees Razzamataz Students Perform at Hamleys

Families seeking engaging activities during the half-term break are set to enjoy an exciting programme of performances and workshops as students from Razzamataz Theatre Schools take centre stage at Hamleys Westfield White City on Saturday 21st February. With wet weather often impacting seasonal plans, the indoor event offers an interactive and creative experience designed to entertain children and families alike.

Inspired by the much-loved story of Matilda, Razzamataz students will perform vibrant showcases throughout the day, bringing the story’s themes of resilience, imagination and individuality to life. Following each performance, families will be invited to take part in immersive Matilda-themed workshops designed to encourage participation and creativity.

The workshops will feature four unique concepts, each exploring different elements of Matilda’s world through dance, drama and singing. Sessions have been carefully tailored to cater for a range of age groups, including younger children aged 3-5 and more advanced sessions for children aged 6-10.

Seeing the World Through Matilda’s Eyes invites children into a magical world where books inspire imagination and even the smallest voices can make a big impact. Meet the Characters and Outsmart Miss Trunchbull are playful sessions exploring the story’s colourful personalities, ending with a fun mission to outwit the formidable headmistress. When I Grow Up focuses on building life skills such as courage, kindness, perseverance and imagination, while Revolting Children is a high-energy movement workshop celebrating self-expression, confidence and individuality.

Razzamataz is well known for facilitating lots of performance opportunities for students that build confidence, encourage creativity and introduce children to new and exciting experiences. The performing arts remain a powerful tool in helping young people develop essential life skills that extend far beyond the stage.

The collaboration reflects a shared ethos with Hamleys, which is globally recognised for creating a magical, interactive world of play by bringing toys to life and delivering memorable experiences for families. This aligns closely with Razzamataz’s commitment to using performing arts as a vehicle to nurture imagination, self-esteem and creative thinking in young people.

“It is a real honour to partner with Hamleys to provide children and families with some half-term fun while introducing them to the wonderful world of performing arts,” says Denise Gosney, Managing Director and Founder of Razzamataz Theatre Schools. We are passionate about creating opportunities that allow children to build confidence, express themselves creatively and discover new talents, and this collaboration allows us to do exactly that in a truly magical setting.”

The event also highlights the exciting opportunities available to Razzamataz franchisees, who benefit from working alongside globally recognised and respected brands, providing memorable experiences for their students while strengthening community engagement.
