Lady Gaga comes to Razzamataz Carlisle

In honour of Lady Gaga’s visit to Carlisle on Sunday 15th May for Radio One’s Big Weekend, Razzamataz Theatre Schools has arranged for a Lady Gaga tribute act called Miss Gaga Lady Gaga Tribute to come into the Carlisle based theatre school to do a workshop for the students on the Sunday morning before her gig kicks off.

Razzamataz Founder, Managing Director and Carlisle Principal Denise Hutton-Gosney says: “Lady Gaga is such an iconic performer, she has created an act that encompasses music, dance and drama and whether you love her or loathe her, she is clearly very talented and unique. We hope that our students will tune into their creativity when our Gaga tribute act comes to Razzamataz.”

The two and a half hour workshop costs just £15 and as well as the children getting a chance to sing and dance, Gaga will be strutting her stuff and the parents will be invited back to watch their offspring perform.

Performance is a big part of the Razzamataz curriculum. Students at the Carlisle theatre school have recently returned from performing their Michael Jackson Tribute act on the stage of the West End’s Her Majesty’s Theatre and they will shortly performing again at the Razzamataz Annual Showcase Razz Factor at The Sands Centre on Saturday 11 June.

Razzamataz classes, for children age 5-18, consist of three hours of dance, drama and singing and the curriculum covers the whole of the performing arts, from classic West End musical theatre to commercial street dance and hip hop. For younger children, Razz Minis aimed at four to five year-olds, introduce children to the performing arts every week in one-hour classes.

As well as the Lady Gaga workshop for students in Carlisle, the whole of the Razzamataz brand is committed to working with top performers to really inspire the children. Past events have included masterclasses by Tim Noble, choreographer and dancer with Kylie Minogue and Zoo Nation, creators of hip hop musical Into The Hoods.

There are currently a limited number of places available at the Carlisle Razzamataz. If you would like to try one of the FREE taster sessions or book for the Lady Gaga workshop please call 01228 550129.
