Razzamataz Theatre Schools was launched in 2000 and achieved national recognition in 2007 after a memorable appearance on BBC’s Dragons’ Den, winning the investment from Duncan Bannatyne, who remains a committed partner supporting all new Razzamataz ventures.

Razzamataz is proud to put the welfare of its students at the heart of everything it does. From providing affordable part-time performing arts training for children and young people throughout the UK, to giving them access to some of the most talented performers through specialist workshops and classes, Razzamataz uses theatre arts within small class sizes to nurture a child’s confidence and self-esteem, all while making sure they are having a lot of fun.

Come and join the Razzamataz family to experience a range of styles from classic West End musical theatre to funky street dance and pop singing. There are always lots of opportunities to perform for both boys and girls, from local theatres and festivals to the glittering lights of London’s West End stage.

Dylan Harper has been involved in the arts for many years and attended theatre groups from an early age.  He has been working with Razzamataz Theatre Schools Head Office since 2010 and is very pleased to have taken over as Principal here at Razz Ayr! He has performed as Buttons in a local version of Cinderella, appeared as a Oompa Loompa and taken part in a Scottish Shakespeare festival and much more. Most recently he has been involved in directing and organising numerous shows for young performers, as well as running a community record label and recording studio.

When Dylan isn’t at Razz, he can be found working within local schools and churches, DJing and providing training and consultancy to youth projects in management and child protection issues and legislation. He has participated in various education and children work studios, is a qualified Arts Award instructor and is very experienced in supporting children with additional support needs. Dylan is the first point of contact on a Saturday and will help with anything he can.

Welcome to Razzamataz Theatre Schools guide to what’s on for children and families in Ayr.

We offer part-time performing arts training for children aged 2-18 in Ayr so we understand what children and their families are looking for on days out. Whether you want to find out about performing arts, sports activities, creative fun or educational events, as a local business in the area focusing on children, we know where to go for the best things to do year round for families who want to have fun. Always check with venue for up to date information.

Culzean Castle
Located a short drive outside of Ayr, Culzean Castle has existed since 1400. Today, the castle still plays a prominent role in Ayrshire as one of its best-loved landmarks. With lots of walks, a programme of guided tours, a picnic area, a unique gift shop and having plenty of events planned throughout the year including Christmas, the castle makes for a full family day out.

Our Razz Rating
This is a fun day out and great for playing make believe knights and princesses.

Heads of Ayr Farm Park
Whatever the weather there is always something to do at the Heads of Ayr Farm Park!

They have plenty of exciting activities – Captain you own boat with the amazing bumper boats, soak your family and friends in water wars, try out the electric tractors and diggers, or have a go on the assault course, playpark, giant sand pit, trampolines, ringo sledging, a giant aerial runway and jumping pillows.

They also have some pretty awesome animals to visit too – not just your normal farm!

Our Razz Rating
We love exploring the different areas of the farm park, meeting the animals and whizzing down the slides.

Pirate Petes
With four decks of slopes and slides, climbs and tubes, Pirate Pete's is a treasure trove of attractions to put your pirating skills to the ultimate test. There are ball lagoons; soft bouncers; aerial runways; even a spiral slide, for you to spin your dizzy way from top to bottom of the main mast... 'fore you walk the plank at the bottom.
For families there are the Fun Park and Crazy Golf. There is also Laser Storm, where you get to play in all the soft play equipment with laser guns for all the family – a personal favourite of Dylan’s!
Our Razz Rating
We love the soft play and especially the Laser Storm!

Razz Tots

Razz Tots, an exciting new class for 2-3s, is specially designed in line with the Curriculum of Excellence to fit in with thegovernment’s guidelines on early years development. Our classes will enable your child’s physical and emotional developmentwhilst encouraging their communication skills and increasing their confidence. The movement and melody based classes will also allow you to build on the bond between you and your child whilst working with them one to one on songs, movement and craft activities. There is also an opportunity to socialise more with other parents at the end of the session with complimentary refreshments.

Children learn when they feel comfortable in an environment and very much through repetition so we have broken our classes down into themes each lasting 6 weeks. Contact your Principal to find out what our Tots are currently working on!
